The public library of Horsens is open under restrictions (FAQ)

From Friday, Dec. 11th at 16.00 the libraries in Horsens will be going into restricted opening.

As a consequence of the government's and the authorities' latest measures to contain the COVID-19 infection in Denmark, the Main Library in Horsens will be going into restricted opening from Friday, Dec. 11 at 16.00, and until Tuesday, April 20th, 2021. All of our other libraries will be closed during this period.
All fees and return deadlines due in the closing period are suspended.
Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions in connection with COVID-19.

Regardin lending of materials, delivery and reservations of materials, this has the following implications:

The main library is open under restrictions.
All other departments are closed. This includes the self-service library hours.
At the Main Library in Horsens, a limited area of the first floor will be open for users between 10 and 16, so that it will be possible to hand in and pick up reserved books. There will be no access to the rest of the Main Library or our other libraries. This means that we will not be offering newspapers, copying services, IT, etc.

Renewal of materials

It is possible to renew materials on our website, unless there is a reservation on the material. 


No fees are charged on materials that were due to be returned during the closing period. But remember to return your loans no later than 7 days after we reopen. You can still pay previous fees through our website.

Recalls, reminders, etc.

If you have materials that are due for return, we will send you a reminder as usual. We will not, however, be issuing fees for late returns until 7 days after we return to regular opening hours.

New reservations

It is possible to reserve our materials during the closing period. If your material is returned during the period of limited opening, it will be possible to pick it up at the Main Library in Horsens. If you normally pick up your reserved materials at another branch, be sure to change the pick-up location if you wish to pick it up during this period. Pick up will only be possible at the Main Library.

Borrowing books

During the period, it is only possible to borrow reserved books. Therefore, if you want to borrow a book, it is necessary that you reserve it via our website. You will be notified when the book is ready for pick up.

Help from a librarian

If you need guidance from a librarian, we are available by phone on weekdays between 10 and 16. Call us on 76 29 24 00. It is not possible to talk to a librarian by showing up at the library.

Material ordered from other libraries

You can still order materials from other libraries and have them delivered in Horsens.

Borgerservice at Brædstrup library

Online offers

The library's online offer is unaffected by the limited opening. It is thus possible to access the eReolen, Filmstriben and all the other offers as before.
