Face masks - what does this mean for you?

Starting October 29th wearing a face mask is mandatory while visiting the public libraries in Horsens. You must wear a face mask when on the move inside the library, for instance when browsing for books, going to a meeting room or getting to the toilet from where you were seated. This means that face masks are also mandatory at events, but if you are seated during the event, you are allowed to remove the mask as long as you stay seated. Wearing a face mask is not mandatory whilekeeping seated using a PC or while using a Study room or similar. Children under the age of 12 are excempt from the demand for face masks as well.

You do not have to wear a face masks if you have been excempt for reasons due to your health.

How quickly should I return the books I have borrowed?

If you return your loans from before the lockdown before June 15th you will not be fined for returning them too late. Fines from before this period can still be paid via our website.

Why have I been charged for late returns?

As noted above we have postponed the delivery date of materials that were supposed to be returned during the lockdown untill June 15th. Materials that were not returned within this period were thus not charged for late delivery. If you have materials that were supposed to be returned within the extended return period, you can expect to be charged for late delivery. We calculate the fee from the original date that you borrowed the material or from the latest reneval date.

Can I print, scan and borrow a PC?

Our PCs are not available for use at the moment. Thus the regular print and scan service is also unavailable.
You can, however, use the Princh service to print from your own PC or mobile device. Click here to learn more about Princh.

It's also possible to borrow a PC for searching for library materials. If you need help in locating the materials you need you can always ask a librarian for helpor use the app 'Biblioteket'.

Can I meet up with friends at the library?

Yes. As long as guidelines for distance keeping, hand hygiene and general guidelines for gatherings are met, you are welcome to meet up at the library. Please respect the signs we have put up. 

Can I book a room for at meeting or to study?

Yes. As long as guidelines for distance keeping, hand hygiene and general guidelines for gatherings are met, you are welcome to use your study rooms and meeting facilities. Please respect the signs we have put up.

When will you re-open for self service?

At the moment we simply do not know, but we will make sure to tell you as soon as we know. Keep an eye on this website and  our social media.

What do I do if I want to avoid a crowd?

Take a look at the graph below. The graph shows when most people visit the library. If you want to avoid crowds it's advised to use the library at less visited times.

Can I get help?

Yes, of course. We will be behind a screen and we encourage you to keep a distance, but we are more than ready to help you find exactly what you are looking for.
