Right to be informed

Due to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are obliged to provide you with information, when we handle data concerning you or your child – no matter whether your personal data is directly obtained from you, or provided by another.

What does Horsens Municipality do with my data? 

We process your and/or your child’s personal data with the purposes of lending items and making library services available, cf. chapter 1 and 3 of the Danish Library Act. 
Furthermore, the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Art. 6, part 1, litra a and litera e (general personal data) of the Data Protection Regulation. Data concerning CPR. No. is processed in accordance with § 11, part 1 of the Danish Data Protection Act. 

Which categories of personal data does the library process? 

The categories of personal data that are processed are:

  • Regular personal data, e.g. name, address, phone number.
  • Data concerning CPR. No.

Normally, we only gather information that we have received from you. 

Other recipients of your personal data

Horsens municipality may be obliged to pass on data concerning you, if an access to documents is requested in accordance with the Danish Public Administration Act (Forvaltningsloven) or the Danish Access to Public Administration Files Act (Offentlighedsloven).  

For how long does Horsens Municipality keep my data?

We store your personal data, and keep them for as long as we need them in our case management. 
When we no longer need your personal data and a possible archiving requirement in accordance with the Archives Act is fulfilled, your personal data will be deleted at Horsens Municipality. 


Your rights in accordance with the data protection regulation

In accordance with the data protection regulation, you have a number of different rights, when the municipality processes data concerning you. You are, among other things, entitled to:

  • Gain insight into the municipality’s processing of data that concerns you.
  • Corrections of incorrect personal data concerning you.
  • Limits to the processing of personal data concerning you (e.g. if there are any uncertainties about the correctness of the data).
  • To make an objection to our processing of personal data concerning you.
  • To have your personal data at the municipality deleted (however, you have to be aware that we, as a public authority, are obliged to be able to document the foundation on which we have based a decision. Hence, we only have access to delete personal data to a limited extend).

The Danish Data Protection Agency

You are entitled to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, if you are unsatisfied with the way in which Horsens Municipality process your personal data. Find the contact information for the Danish Data Protection Agency on www.datatilsynet.dk.
